FAQ

  • Where can I take the City & Guilds examination?

We are currently building our network of assessment centres with the aim of ensuring you won't have to travel more than an hour to a destination. Alternatively, if you have a Windows computer and a secondary device, you are able to access the City & Guilds 'Test at Home' platform to take the exam

  • I haven't studies for years, am I capable?

We understand that returning to education can seem daunting, however, can assure you that you're not alone. Whilst we can't do the work for you, we can support you with your learning style to ensure you have the best possible opportunity.

  • Is there a time limit on the course?

You are given 12-month initial access, however, if you need more then all you have to do is ask, there's no extra cost like some online courses.

  • How long will it take me to complete the course?

A great deal depends on how much time you are able to dedicate to your learning and any previous knowledge. There are 92 lessons, some are very short & sweet, others more in-depth.

  • I'm worried that I'll get side-tracked with an online course, how can I stay motivated?

We understand that if you're not actually going to a class, it can be difficult and If you need a study buddy to motivate and guide you, this can be arranged, however, we offer clusters of support to help you through.

  • I want to achieve a regulated qualification, can I do this at home too?

Unfortunately not, a regulated qualification is under the government regulatory framework. We have a number of centres that you can attend once you have completed this course to take the City & Guilds, VTCT or ITEC examination

  • Is this course insurable?

Yes, in certain situations it is. We are working with a number of insurance companies to ensure that they understand the rigour and quality assurance associated with completing the course and achieving the certification. If you need to discuss this further, please get in touch.

Director of training at Phoenix Louise Phoenix Searles

I’ve been involved with education & training since 1993 as a college lecturer, examiner & lead verifier with City & Guilds. Since 2001, I have been fortunate enough to help many people gain a ‘Career after Children’ creating flexible learning plans incorporating the units they would like to study. My main focus is on enhancing the quality of the learner’s journey, whilst meeting the industry’s needs and expectations to create a quality provision. Therapy Learning Resources is an extension of the provision which I first developed to help our adult learners embrace the complexities of gaining regulated qualifications whilst not compromising the support to their family.

Complementary therapies specialist Michelle Andreou

I love to teach! To impart my skills and knowledge into creating well-rounded, professional therapists gives me a buzz. I believe that when we learn as adults we bring a wealth of life-skills to the learning journey and I use this experience and build on it. My style of teaching is to make students think…. And find their own answer. I facilitate - guiding students to come to their own conclusions to empower their learning. My lessons are fun and very interactive. Students are encouraged to contribute their own thoughts and ideas as, in that way, we can learn from each other. When learning a new skill, there are guidelines but I encourage and positively applaud students having a personal take on a skill, finding their own way of doing something that will make them stand out. I believe at the end of their journey with me students will be able to go out into the world as well-rounded, skilled, professional therapists and establish a well-being business.

I would highly recommend this course! It was an absolute God-send to me whilst revising A&P. I don't think I could have passed without it. I found watching and listening to the videos on all the body systems, a great way to learn and much easier than reading from a book. The additional activities and mini revision tests were also a great way to review and test your knowledge. Definitely 5 Stars from me!
